Robin Costelle
welcome to my site

This is just a little homemade website to show off a bit. It started with a little woodturning, but I piddle with all sorts of stuff. Mostly wood, but some ceramics and other mediums, dulcimers, flutes, bamboo fly rods, fishing nets, furniture and occasionally some really neat stuff. Enjoy and thanks for stopping to take a look.-Robin

Bamboo Fly Rods
Here are a few bamboo fly rods. First off-I didn't craft the rod blanks. It would take me years (if ever) to build a good bamboo rod blank, so I did the next best thing-find someone else. These were built by Bill Critchfield from Minnesota-an excellent craftsman and gentleman. All I did was turn the reel seats, add the guides and handles, choose the thread colors and wrap the guides, and add a protective finish-the fun stuff. And they actually catch fish-imagine that.

Dulcimers
These are really fun to make-until you try making a bunch at a time and then my mind starts wandering a bit. I still like creating dulcimers but I've learned to take them one at a time so I don't get bored. I love the continuous curves and cool woods that I can use for tops along with sides, back, and bindings. But they still have to sound good-all sound different-and the rest is just personal taste.

Wood Fishing Nets

(Just more piddlin)
I just had to try something else. These nets are a by product of my fishing and woodworking habits. Waterproof finish and new rubber nets that are suppose to be easier on the fish. I seldom catch anything big enough for a net but I think they do look good hanging around. The hoops are about 10 1/2" by 15 1/4" I.D and roughly 23" to 25" overall length.

A quick shot of a few Native American style wood flutes. I like the colorful wood combinations I can choose from and the beautiful soulful sound.
